The deposit of Cantera Solis is located in the Principality of Asturias, on the Southwest of Avilés, in Corvera of Asturias (Spain). From the geological point of view, the deposit is situated in the central area of Asturias, in the Mesozoic- Tertiary depression, having its origin in the Jurassic period, unconformity over the Paleozoic. The formation of conglomerates presents a considerable thickness, above 100 m in the area of the biggest topography. It is a conglomerate or puddingstones with an accused isotropy and neither well-ordered patterns nor sedimentary structures can be observed. Only occasionally, low levels of sandstones or clay of little lateral continuity and thickness may appear. The nature of the pebbles is mainly quartzite. In order to achieve the exploitation of this deposit, we hold the Resource Authorisation Section A, in accordance with the current Mining Law, with a surface of 50Ha and an estimate stock of 100 million tons. The plant production capacity is 1.000.000 tons/year (400Tm/hour net), with the capacity to increase such amount, according to market demands. The system is totally automated with the highest technology in grinding and sieving machinery which allows us to offer completely grinded and washed products.

Explotaciones Mineras Solís holds the Certificate of Factory Production Control acknowledged by the Company BUREAU VERITAS, fulfilling the regulations UNE 1260/2003 for their use in the manufacturing of concretes, and the regulation UNE 13043/2003 for bituminous mixes and surface treatments for roads, airports and other dock areas. In order to maintain the highest quality of our products, tests are regularly carried out by an external firm. |
